Do we have to have employees own personal electrical equipment tested and tagged?
Yes, if an employee brings their own electrical equipment to the workplace such as a mobile phone charger, desk fan, radio, etc it must be tested and tagged at least once every 12 months.
Do we have to have student laptops tested and tagged, even if they become the student’s property after a period of time?
Yes, if a laptop is provided to a student to use at school it needs to be tested and tagged at least once every 12 months. If after a certain period of time the laptop then becomes the property of the student and the student still brings it to school then it still has to be tested and tagged at least once every 12 months.
Does an electrician who is an employee of the site have to issue Certificates of Compliance?
Yes, any licenced electrician who performs any work on electrical circuits must provide the owner of the building a Certificate of Compliance, regardless if they are a contractor or an employee of site.
